It would be easy enough to celebrate about Barb's Bakery just for the beautiful wedding cakes, done up in the same kind of elegant designs that Martha Stewart would approve of, in flavors from devil's food to pink champagne. After all, hearing your guests rave about how good the thing looks and tastes is a definite victory for even the most raging Bridezilla. But Barb's does more than just the Big Day. Barb's does holidays, with cute themed cupcakes for Christmas, Easter, and more. Birthdays, naturally, are a breeze for Barb's Bakery, whether your birthday boy or girl craves carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, or classic yellow cake slathered with chocolate buttercream. And thanks to signature frosted cookies in whimsical shapes and colors, even ordinary days become a special occasion.

Watch out! when I went to pick up a wedding cake (on Saturday afternoon) for a family celebration on Sunday--the Barbs Bakery staff had not baked the cake...and had left my confirmed order on their "pending" board...so it was never made. No appoligy...no sorry...no suggestions on what to do to find a wedding cake on a Saturday afternoon...nothing. Just a unfriendly employee that just strugged his shoulders and said, well...the order was not completed (by their staff), so we didn't execute on the order. Now...if you saw a pending wedding cake order...wouldnt you try to confirm the order?????
Again, no appology, no empathy...NO SERVICE...and no wedding cake.
A HORRIBLE experience!

Barb's Bakery did my wedding cake on October 25. This was the beat cake ever! The customer service was outstanding and everyone at my wedding loved the cake. I went to many different places for wedding cakes and nothing compares to price and quality. I can see why they were voted Best of Phoenix many times and The Knot Best of Phoenix.

Try the pink champagne cake with the custard filling or with the rasberry filling! It is to die for!

We used Barb's Bakery to make our wedding cake last spring. The cake itself was wonderful. Customer service on the Saturday morning we picked up the cake was another story all together -- the staff was disorganized, disinterested, and stressed out. This was in contrast to our weekday experience, in which staff was friendly, polite, and fast. While their product is outstanding, barb's definitely needs to look at their staff training.

I can't believe Barb's Bakery won this award. The customer service was awful & the cake itself was dry & flavorless & this was the SECOND time that this happened to me. I found a custom bakery in town by the name of Sweet 'N Dough. The owner was so helpful & the cake & cupcakes were WOW, WOW, WOW. Barb's has really gone down hill....so dissappointing.

Do your homework before you ever order a cake from Barb's. They have left couples without cakes and if they should mess up your order you will never receive any kind of apology. Their cakes might be pretty to look at but just don't expect to receive any Customer Service after you have placed your order.

I can't believe some of the comments that people have made! I have gone to many different bakeries and nothing compares to Barb's Bakery! WOW... if you want outstanding customer service... it's there! If you want quality... it's there! And, lastly, if you want accomodating and prompt services by the all of the staff, it's there! Come on people! I have recommended cakes, wedding cakes, pastries (which are to die for), and cookies (which you will kill over for) from Barb's. From reading the comments, it sounds like they were very accomodating to YOUR needs. YOU were just needing your hand to be held.
