The latest incarnation of the tiny building that once housed the original Goldwater’s liquor store is a cozy, casual wine bar where there’s a nice selection of affordable wines by the glass (mostly Italian), appetizers and salads that make good use of top-notch produce, and a variety of satisfying panini, from grilled gorgonzola and fig on sourdough, to an exemplary grilled cheese with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, prosciutto, and tender baby arugula. Friendly servers follow the lead of sociable owner Chris Cottingham, who mingles with guests while keeping an eye on the kitchen.
